I’ve always been a huge fan of podcasts. During this season of traveling slower and spending more days at home, I’m turning to podcasts more and more for future trip planning and to live vicariously though for a bit. Here’s a list of some of my favorite outdoor podcasts that have been been getting me through.
PEAK NORTHWEST:
Specifically for adventuring in Oregon this podcast by the Oregonian is great for future trip ideas of places to explore throughout the northwest. It’s shown me that there are still so many places to get out and explore once we can again. You can check it out here.
GAZE AT THE NATIONAL PARKS
This is a new favorite. Mike and Dusty have a great sense of humor and recap different things to do at various national parks. The podcast feels like you’re exploring the national parks with two friends. And they also play some great witty games as well that are really fun. DIRTBAG DIARIES
This podcast by Patagonia tells great stories about people’s experiences in the outdoors. I especially enjoy the year of big ideas episodes they do where people share their goals for each year. Its always really uplifting and great for new ideas. Check it out here.
SHE EXPLORES
She Explores is focused on women sharing stories of their times outdoors. Each episode covers a different theme about life in the outdoors. Check it out here.
WOMEN ON THE ROAD
Women on the Road is the sister podcast to She Explores. It focuses on life on the road and all the aspects that surround that. It’s great if you love road trips, van life or living on the road full time. It’s also focused on women’s experiences on the road and I’ve found it extremely helpful. Check it out here.
UNLIKELY HIKERS
This podcast focuses on telling stories of real people who are under represented in the outdoors. Jenny is honest and refreshing and feels like an old friend reaching out to you. The podcast episodes are also live which is great. You can check it out here.
EVERYBODY’S NATIONAL PARK
This podcast is for anyone who wants to explore the national parks with their family. They have great tips for traveling with families and things to do with kids. You can check it out here.
MY SOLO ROAD
If you’ve ever been interested in VanLife this podcast is for you. In it host Sydney shares tips and advice for life of the road. It’s super helpful with practical tips for how to manage life on the road. You can check it out here.

Wild Ideas worth living is an REI podcast where host Shelby Stanger interviews people living out their wildest ideas. Its inspiring to hear what other people are getting after. You can check it out here.
